Curriculum Vitae
Ata Gilani, was born on April 15, 1952 in Iran. Since 1987, he has been based in Cologne, Germany, and works as a writer and theater maker. He writes poems, satirical musicals, and plays in German and Persian (Farsi).
Some of his works include:
- 1992: Ghorbat Mobārak, a play about life in exile, in Persian
- 1993: Hassan Katschal, a satirical musical (based on Ali Khatemi), directed and performed at the German-Iranian Theater Festival in Cologne
- 1993: Stadtmusikanten der Neuzeit, a children’s play in German, directed in Cologne
- 1994: Mashdi Ebād, a satirical musical directed and performed at the German-Iranian Theater Festival in Cologne
- 1995: Privatbunker
- 1996: Wenn ich nicht Selbstmord begehen würde, performed at the Bauturm Theater (German-Iranian Theater Festival) in Cologne
- 1998: Die Liebe von Rabea, prosa Performance
- 2006: Karim Schirei und Nasaraldinschah, directed and performed at the Arkadas Theater in Cologne
- 2007: Tot Gelacht, a play based on the life philosophy of Tiziano Terzani (in collaboration with Dr. Peter Klein)
- 2012: Die Kuh, a novel in Persian, published by Forugh Verlag in Cologne
- 2020: Schaltarsmamad, a satirical musical (Gilaki), directed and performed by Ali Kuschk Djalali, the play has bin stopped in Iran
